Karthik Hemmanur is a Partner at Keystone and leads the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He advises companies and their counsel on complex matters involving tax, financial economics, and valuation. His work spans tax controversy, transactions, litigation, and strategic advisory matters, frequently bringing together economic, financial, valuation, and accounting analysis.
Karthik’s experience spans transfer pricing, international and transactional tax, economic substance, tax policy economics, and tax planning and strategy. His expertise includes business and asset valuation, including intellectual property, financial instruments, and employee stock options, as well as transaction analysis, debt-equity characterization, credit analysis and pricing, damages analysis, and economic impact assessments.
Karthik works closely with leading law firms throughout complex disputes, from audit and Exam through litigation. He advises on economic and financial positions, expert strategy, and analyses supporting expert opinions and testimony. He also has extensive experience building multidisciplinary teams of economists, valuation and accounting professionals, technologists, industry executives, and other subject-matter experts.
