Charlie is a Principal in Keystone’s London office. He specialises in applying economics to competition, regulatory and disputes matters across a range of industries, with particular expertise in telecoms, media, digital markets and sport.
Charlie has a particular focus on sports matters, including competition law cases and disputes and arbitrations involving sports governing bodies, clubs, athletes and other sporting participants. His work in the sector includes economic analysis of sporting rules, regulatory interventions and the justifications for restrictions imposed by governing bodies, including issues relating to competitive balance and the integrity of competitions.
More broadly, Charlie has advised regulators, technology companies, digital platforms, telecoms operators, broadcasters and media organisations on a wide range of competition and regulatory issues. He is particularly interested in using economic analysis to address complex real-world problems and deliver practical outcomes for clients. His recent work has included leading the bidding strategy and economic analysis for a successful UK state aid bid under Project Gigabit, worth more than £50 million.
Before joining Keystone, Charlie worked in economic consulting and as a senior economist at Ofcom, the UK communications regulator. Most recently, he was Chief Economist at UK challenger broadband provider CityFibre.
Outside of work, you will most likely find Charlie on the tennis court or at the cinema.
